Okay, the first night was run at Sandringham Golf Range and won with a couple of tight games toward the end.
Team Gaud easily accounted for the much vaunted Rat Pack and The Wedges were far too good for Team Dennito in the early matches. The girls (and Michael) put on a cliff hanger in the third match with BC United just getting over the line with a night high of 1522 points. The Albatrosses losing score of 1467 would have won any other match on the night. In the final match, Eagles & Birdies eventually prevailed over the R&GD Classiques.
Interestingly, the three individual highest points scorers on the night were Lesley, Sue and Michelle. Might say something about finesse and touch over brawn. So, after round 1, The Wedges are atop the ladder followed by Team Gaud. Remember, top three is where you need to be to play in the finals.
